Interview with @MingoPoet

At what age did you decide to become an artist?

Soon as I was 10 years old I knew I wanted to be a artist My mom and dad would always play me music new music or old and I fell in love with it  so I always knew I would be doing this then when I  hit high school that's when I started writeing songs and stuff people would ask me to write for them and I would say no you have to create your own vision.

Name a few of your biggest influences in hip hop?

Well honestly myself that's my biggest influence in hip hop but if I had to name someone it would be Drake he is one of a kind in my eyes dude can rap and sing rare to find . but myself as well because I wanna be  one of the greatest of all time or the best I can be I know I got the talent the drive its just about putting it to light now.

What are some of the things you're  working on right now?

Right now im working on a new Era Clique mixtape its a big project me and biggs really wanted to show that where way better and that we belong in the game then after that im gonna shoot some music videos to my songs and get that going  so stay tuned you don't wanna miss.

What advice can you give other upcoming artists?

Advice I would give is music is like a baby you have to feed it and be in its care 24 7 but in time that baby will grow up and all that you have done to help it grow will pay you back someday what im saying is you have to grind 27 4 to get anywhere with your music its something you cant give up on if music is your dream and you love it then make sure you give 100 percent.

How has life changed for you since becoming an artist?

My life has changed in a way that is wild some people hate me now the ones that use to be my friends just do becuse I do music because I rap and they don't wanna see someone make it . on the other hand its been for the better I have people that ask me all the time when you gonna put out the mixtape when you gonnna do this its because people care about me as a artist my socal stuff is really booming now so a lot has changed.

Interview with @Mia_aka_rose

At what age did you decide to become an artist?

I would say about 18, but in reality i started writing my own lyrics and shit at age 16. It's very intricate at the moment, that's why, haha.

Name a few of your biggest influences in hip hop?

Damn, uh, there's a lot of people who influenced me, and are influencing me now. Uh, i would particularly say "the underground" because i listen to a hella lot of it every single day.
It's just so much to say. haha but uh, Tech N9ne, Zigg Zagg, Tupac, Gangsta Boo, La Chat, Army Of The Pharoahs and the list goes on.

What are some of the things you're working on right now?

Uh, nothing, lol, fucking around. Uh, there is something i am currently working on at the moment, It's called "Kill Da Rhymez: Tha Killing Me Slowly Challenge". Basically, it's a little digital compilation or whatever and i just hit up my fellow artist friends to record their entry over a beat I've made back in January earlier this year at a music school i attended a few months ago. I haven't set a certain release
date for that project, because I'm still waiting on them to hit me up and say "Hey Mia, or Hey Rose, what date and time do you want this or my verse recorded?" or some shit like that, but everybody is always remaining busy which is a good thing as well, and so am i, but, i keep sharing the same fucking status i wrote about it back in May over and over and nobody has bought me anything yet, so I'm going to work on that shit until the people i asked gets it done and all. But, it matters and it does not at the same time since people decides to ignore sometimes but it's okay. Plus I'm still managing the artwork and all of that, so it may be awhile.

What advice can you give other upcoming artists?

Just be yourself, period. Don't go and mark your fucking territory and sound shitty as fuck because there's a lot of cats sounding off beat and weak, and it tears me apart that nobody taught
them how to measure their bars or anything like that. I can and will support any fucking body, but as soon as they start doing something like that, it's like, i can't listen to that at all. Even over a rad beat you know. Stay within measures, be on beat and on time, and you'll sound pretty nice. Stay in your own lanes, and mainly, just be you. If your young, follow the same advice as well. I was once like that as well, but I've gained a little knowledge.

What kinds of music do you listen to?

Everything, probably except Country, Death Metal, and bad things that are playing on the radio such as these dumb songs named "Flicka Da Wrist", "No Flex Zone", etc. No disrespect whatsoever, and I know they're doing their thing, but keep it to a minimum. Our generation and society is already trashy. But, I mainly listen to the Underground, Nu-Metal, Horrorcore, you name it. I like things dirty, dingy, hard bodied, hardcore and rough. Lol, seriously. hands down.

what do you like to do?

Listen to music obviously, draw, watch tv, and workout. Drawing has always been my thing since I was about 8. My sister's dad actually taught me how to draw stuff from Mario and Princess Peach, but I kinda got the hang of it as I grew older. Until this day, it has matured into things like graffiti and made up characters that nobody else has the ability to steal. Sometimes, some of my art work may come out kinda childish because I'm not a expertise like everyone else, and some other days, it may come out as in something looking so exquisite and rad as fuck.

how long have you been doing graffiti?

I've been into it since I was 14 or maybe 16, and that's also how I've gotten started with it as well. I was in high school at the time, and I think I was in the end of 8th grade, or maybe my freshman year or sophomore year, but, if it was so, all I can remember was, every time I got bored in class, drawing on paper because I wasn't that "cool" kid yet, somebody would see me tagging unknown shit, and they be fucking with me saying "tagger!" "ooh tagger", and/or "she's a tagger!". I just would laugh and be like "haha, yup" or just simply smile because I wouldn't know what to say. But as I grew older, time passes by, and I start getting better and better. Towards summer 2014 and throughout the rest of that year, I bought me a sketch book and some Sharpies® and a graffiti paint marker and just started flowing. This year, 2015, bought me my first hard cover book I call, a mock blackbook. Did some tagging in there and still is trying to progress. It can only get better as I keep trying. Real shit.

What is the style of your music?

it's dark, deep, vulgar on a strong note, sexy, sensual, killer, and raw. I thrive for it to be as sexy because it's part of my personality. What do I do for it, I don't draw attention, like you know how female rappers and femcees use their cleavage or their ass or even their "vag-area" for "sexual purposes" in the game, and that's really not attractive at all. Take Snow Tha Product for example. She brings a beanie, or henny in her cup, her crew, and some bomb ass lyrics that you'll get hyped over. If you can get like that, that's exactly what we need for us girls and women to crush the game in their own ways. Nicki, Iggy, and any other bitch who just flosses their body shouldn't be going any further as I may say. I grasp at being sexy because I wanna. Yeah, boys may drool and call me hot and tell me they wanna fuck that, and all and I pretty much just say thanks and laugh, I don't really go forward when they do that. It's pretty fucking annoying haha, but hey, sorry if I'm hot or beautiful. It's both a gift and a curse, wink, wink. (by curse, I meant the sexiness draws boys over, haha). Anyways, I rap like I can stab people, never faked anything, and pretty much can rip your jaw. Haha. If you get to know me well for real and actually become a friend, you'll know why. But, being sensual and getting deep helps me bring out better words and rhymes and creativity.

how has life changed for you since becoming an artist?

For one, very little because I'm not really an artist yet, I've been telling people I've been on a hiatus for a while since after August 9, 2014, since I've made a big "misconception" during that night. But, as after I've said that I was on hiatus, I've been getting my life together such as enrolling into college, getting myself into programs around in my area and community, uh, working out, getting a job. And guess what? Those things has took a great big step into greatness, and there's two sides of greatness I see. The greatness I am apart of and being very successive at it, and the second greatness is when I actually feel that moment of relief after I have completed everything I have done in my life that I know that I was supposed to be doing. So as of right now still, I'm still doing the necessary things to make sure to get where I am going. I'm still on a hiatus, but I am working my way up to make sure I get out of that stage because I feel exactly like I'm on hold accountable, locked up in a cage, being the monster inside of myself for so damn long, to the point where it's like, I don't care, I'm killing the first person I see who hates on me, reveal the enemies who I feed off of plenty. Yes, I threw a little rhythm out there.

Have you had the pleasure of performing yet?

Not exactly, No. I actually have a local showcase coming up in August, on August 8th i believe for the music school i attended at, called Upbeat Academy, performing at Gasa Gasa on a Saturday. i might have someone record my actual performance, but i have to check with that first. I could count that as a actual performance, but that's not what i wanted to feel. I want my actual first performance to have as many people as possible as i can think of, ready to hear something they never heard of before, and at the end, saying, damn or to leave them breathless and wanting more of my music. that's how i want my fans to be exact one day. truth. but, the times will come and go, believe me. I just need to keep my head up and keep pushing.

Are there any artists/talent that you've worked with or would like to work with ,that we should be watching?

Yes, i'm beginning to start working with Colorado based artists that reside in Denver, CO. I haven't got around with too many yet, but as i do these small projects for now, that's something to keep me flowing until then, but, I've worked with this chick named Jade The Nightmare from Denver, and she's amazing. She's a sweet kid, i mean, i can call her my second sister if needed, but, as in more times if we continue to work together, then i can say that. But, she's young, not gong to provide the age, but she has a mega personality of goth and darkness, and which i can dig, because my music gives a good scoop of that except for the goth part, but i mean, she can spit really well like she knows what she's doing. I had her spit over "Killing Me Slowly", and when i heard her a capellas before her verse, before we actually put it together, i was like what!?!! like my father would act out and say, haha. i said to her, what the hell, you blew my mind, oh my god, this is fucking amazing! So, as i "produced" the beat, since i was in music school, we now have a opportunity of a single, that i've put out with her together, and it's definitely cool. She even put it on her upcoming album "Everything's Corrupt" without me even asking her, and she said i've earned the privilege because i would always share her stuff on my social media, and things like that, so i'm like this is pretty cool. People who have the audacity and hearts to be as generous and kind as her, i can work with people like that if i am struggling or busy and can't get a way out to be able to do some real work with anybody, and i thank each and every person that i've talked to for something like that in a collaboration, etc because either we're friends posing as real family, or someone that can help each other out you know, but yeah. Also, shouts out to my team Weird Musik, i love them to death, all of them. They are like my second family, and that's who i actually really promote for at times. I'm connected to them, well fuck, long story, haha. not to get into depth with that, but yeah. I'm working with them as i speak, shouts out to T-May, my sister, not blood, but we're going to be working on a little mixtape called 'A Different Side Of The 2", as soon as i get off this goddamn hiatus that everybody seems to have a problem with. but yeah. I would like to also work with Smallz One, reppin' out of Albuquerque, NM., Tech N9ne (one day) out of Kansas City, MO, and others, (long list). I will contact someone such as Bianca personally so she can know the people that i am currently talking about.

Have any piercings?

Yes. hahahaha, one on my right upper ear, it's an industrial piercing, and depending on getting more on left and right ear when i am able to.

Last, but, not least, how can we keep up to date with you, so we can know more about you, etc?

Thank you guys so much for having me, i know i went REALLY into depth about myself, and i had to because nobody is going to know why i do this or that, haha, but uh, yeah. Shout out Luv Indie Hip Hop for having me on their website/blog, and i really appreciate them a hella lot. By the way, thank you Bianca!!!! i love you, not a thing to change. I'm going to send my picture and jet out of this biatch. fuck with me, holla. -Rose Miller Ramirez :*
