Interview With @TheDartangon

At what age did you decide to become an artist?

Music was literally my first love. It wasn't that I decided to become an artist.... it's just something I've always done since a very young child.

Name a few of your biggest influences in hip hop?

Anyone and everyone that I've ever heard rhyme.....

What are some of the things you’re working on right now?

I'm working on an LP titled THe Culture Qunubu. It coincides with the launch of my apparel company Queen "Mary Jane" Qunubu Apparel, located @ qwww.mjqunubu.com

What advice can you give other upcoming artists?

Learn what real hip hop is all about. Understand that it's all about clever intelligence, not common ignorance.

How has life changed for you since becoming an artist?

I've literally been an artist my whole life. I started as the lead singer in the children's choir of my Baptist church when I was in third grade. I guess you can say those were my first live performances. I noticed even from that age people look at you different when you're a musician.

Have you had the pleasure of performing yet?

I've preformed at some great venues with some amazing artists like the great Run DMC, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, Wu Tang, Bone Thugs,  Redman, Ludacris ...... all the way to French Montana, Glasses Malone, Mobb deep .... etc

Are there any artists/talent that you’ve worked with that we should be watching?

I've done a lot of work with Rkitech, he's a platinum producer and recording artist from New York. Go cop that Anti Skinny Jeans LP

@DashFlaSh Interview

At what age did you decide to become an artist?

At the age of seventeen I decided to become an artist. My brothers and myself always discussed on how we wanted to live this dream in the projects. I fell in love with Hip Hop at the age of seven, when I saw Tupac on TV performing “Hit Em Up”. I started taking this music serious at the age of twenty one.

Name a few of your biggest influences in hip hop?

Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Jay Z, Jadakiss.

What are some of the things you’re working on right now?

Right now I’m getting ready to release the #RegretTheDoubt mixtape. I am already writing all of my songs for the upcoming #Blessed mixtape that will be released around the summer of 2015. Also working on ideas of the upcoming videos with the brothers. We always working on this side. .

What advice can you give other upcoming artists?

Make sure you are having fun while doing this. Never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. If the love of Hip Hop is in your heart, then God put that love in your heart for a reason. Don’t label other artists that are also coming up in the game as competition. For that is a waste of time and will not benefit you in any way, shape, or form. Focus on God, yourself, and your gift.

How has life changed for you since becoming an artist?

Life hasn’t really changed much. Just the fan base has increased and more blessings keep coming my way.

Have you had the pleasure of performing yet?

I opened up for Papoose back in April 18th, in Providence, RI. Performed twice at the Sailfest in New London, CT. Performed at TheRidgeSeason release concert back in August 2nd. My brother Tallent and myself will be opening up for Chris Webby at the Lupo’s venue in Providence, RI this November 7th. Come out to support and have a good time!
